McCarthy commissions the 61 MW Turquoise solar project in Washoe County

McCarthy Building Companies Inc has completed the 61 MWdc Turquoise solar project, built on approximately 180 acres in the Reno Technology Park, in Washoe County, Nevada.

The US$60 million Turquoise solar project is owned by Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company (GREC). The solar project is supplying power to Apple’s data center within the Park.

McCarthy, in partnership with TerraSmart, acts as an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor. Cypress Creek Renewables as the operation and maintenance (O&M) provider.

In 2019, Greenbacker Renewable Energy Company (GREC) has acquired the project from Estuary Capital Partners and Sumitomo Corporation of Americas.
