Mayflower Wind, the developer of a deepwater offshore wind project, has filed proposals as part of Massachusetts’ 83C III offshore wind energy procurement, revealing key elements of the economic development program attached to its proposals. The company submitted its confidential proposals, on schedule, on September 16, 2021.
Mayflower submitted multiple bids, each with an accompanying economic development package. Under the largest scenario, which involves interconnecting 1,200 MW at Brayton Point, Mayflower is committing to spend up to US$81 million on its economic development program.
Among the benefits of a successful bid is the establishment of an operations and maintenance (O&M) port in Fall River at the Borden & Remington Ironworks complex.
Mayflower Wind is a joint venture (JV) between Royal Dutch Shell Plc and Ocean Winds, which in turn is a JV created by EDP Renovaveis SA and Engie SA.
