The Maryland Public Service Commission (PSC) has approved the use of 800-feet GE Haliade-X 12 MW turbines for Ørsted's 120 MW Skipjack offshore wind farm.
Skipjack is initially planned to have 640-feet-tall turbines.
The wind park is to be located 19.5 miles (31.4km) northeast off Ocean City’s coastline, which will consist of 15 wind turbines and a subsea transmission system.
