Macquarie's GIG signs agreement to acquire 43 MW wind farm from OX2

Macquarie-owned Green Investment Group (GIG) has signed an agreement to acquire a Swedish 43 MW onshore wind farm from developer OX2. The project is located in Hornamossen, Jonkoping municipality in southern Sweden.

The Hornamossen wind farm consists of 10 SWT-DD-130 4.3 MW model of Siemens Gamesa turbines. Siemens will provide service for the wind farm for 25 years.

GIG has secured a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Axpo Nordic and deal has a PPA portfolio totalling about 1 gigawatt of onshore wind power capacity in Sweden.

The company did not disclose the value of the transaction.

OX2 is expected to commence the farm’s construction in July 2019 and commercial operations are due in 2020.
