The wind farm developer wpd has proceed to place a turbine order for the Aldermyrberget wind farm. The 72 megawatts facility will be equipped with 17 Vestas V150 turbines, with an output of 4.2 megawatts each and a hub height of 155 meters.
wpd has signed a long-term supply contract for CO2-free electricity with a big Swedish industrial group. At the end of April 2019, both companies ratified a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
Aldermyrberget is being built in northern Sweden, about 60 kilometers from the town of Skellefteå, which makes it the northern-most project wpd has ever implemented. The planning for Aldermyrberget started in 2010 and at the beginning of 2014 the park was already close to completion. New developments, however, meant that the project had to be rescheduled again.
The installation of the turbines is planned for summer 2020 and commissioning for the end of 2020.
