Leeward Renewable Energy LLC has completed the repowering of its 54.4 MW Crescent Ridge wind farm project located in Tiskilwa village in Illinois, USA.

The project was initially switched on in 2005 and consists of 33 NEG Micon turbines with a combined capacity of 54 MW. The recommissioned plant now has four new wind turbines and 24 legacy turbines are replaced with new machines from Vestas. Nine wind turbines are decommissioned.

Wells Fargo has served as coordination lead arranger, administrative agent, and collateral agent on the project financing and provided tax equity while Santander Bank NA was a joint lead arranger. Leeward has signed a power purchase agreement with Amazon.com Inc for the energy produced from the plant.
