Lahti Energia Oy has partnered with Nordic Ren-Gas Oy to build a EUR250 million (US$281.53 million) 120 MW power-to-gas power plant project in Finland.
The project includes the production of green hydrogen and renewable methane with an estimated capacity of 50 million liters of renewable gas fuel for heavy-duty use annually. The plant will be constructed next to the Kymijarvi power station in Lahti. The project will recover the carbon dioxide from the flue gases produced from the Kymijärvi power plant.
Lahti Energia and Ren-Gas will now conduct the technical and economic feasibility analysis of the power-to-gas plant to reach an investment decision. Lahti Energia will provide the plant site and infrastructure connections for the procurement process of goods for the plant. The construction of the project is targeted for 2023.
