Des Cultures Renewable Energy, a partnership of Kruger Energy and Kahnawà:ke Sustainable Energies (KSE), has started commissioning the 24 MW Des Cultures Wind Farm located in Saint-Rémi and Saint-Michel, Quebec.
The wind farm consists of six wind turbines, expected to generate enough power equivalent to more than 2,500 homes and sell renewable electricity to Hydro-Québec for at least 20 years. The project represents an investment of CAD70 million (US$55.12 million), with CAD50 million (US$39.37 million) spent in Québec, will strengthen the local economy.
The construction work of the project began in August 2020 and was completed in December 2021.
