Korea Electric Power Corp's subsidiary, Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power Co. has started the construction of a 200 MW solar photovoltaic park at a former salt farm in Sinan country, South Jeolla province of South Korea.
The facility will use bifacial modules from an undisclosed supplier. By June 2023, the array is expected to start operations on the westernmost point of the Korean peninsula, in the Honam area.
According to KEPCO, a group of local people, a unit of LG, Hoban Industrial, Haedong Construction, and KEPCO itself would all own a portion of the solar facility. Around 270 GWh of power per year is anticipated to be produced by the project.
