Jupiter Power LLC has started the commercial operation of its 100 MW/200 MWh Flower Valley II LLC, a battery energy storage facility located in Reeves County, Texas in the USA.
Flower Valley II is a 100 MW energy storage facility, consisting of 200 MWh of duration capacity. The project can generate enough energy to meet the electricity needs of 20,000 homes at peak demand in Texas.
The project adjoins Flower Valley I, an existing distribution-connected Jupiter battery energy storage facility. Together they represent a combined investment of more than US$70 million in Reeves County. The two projects provide grid support to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT).
