Jordan’s Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC) has officially approved the construction of a 50 MW solar power plant by granting a license for to Al Husainiyah Power Generation Company.
Al-Husainiyah won the rights to generate clean power from the project for a period of 20 years. It will sell clean energy generated by the plant to National Electricity Company under a power purchase agreement (PPA). It had won the project through a competitive bidding process conducted by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the National Electricity Company.
Al Husainiyah is a subsidiary of Jordan’s solar module manufacturer, Phlladelphia Solar (PS).
