innogy has invited suppliers to register their interest in working on the 1.2 GW Sofia offshore wind farm, located 165km off the UK coast on the Dogger Bank in the North Sea in the North East of England.
The project now has a dedicated portal for contractor and suppliers to register their capabilities and interest in working on the project. Contracts will be awarded throughout the development, construction and operational phases of the project, though the majority of key contracts will come into effect with the final investment decision, which is due in 2020 assuming successful outcome in the CfD auction.
These contracts will be for a full range of works including onshore enabling and grid connection activities, turbines and balance of plant supply, offshore installation and commission, O&M and support services.
Formerly known as Dogger Bank Teesside B, the offshore wind farm has been renamed Sofia by innogy. The project forms part of the consented Dogger Bank development, which consists of four offshore wind farms each with an onshore grid connection, and a capacity of up to 1.2 GW.
