Waste management company Indaver has reached financial close on the planned Rivenhall energy-from-waste (EfW) project in Essex.
Indaver will design, build, and operate the Rivenhall EfW project that can accommodate up to 595,000 tonnes per year of waste. The project can generate up to 49.9 MWe.
PwC serves as the financial adviser to Indaver while Herbert Smith Freehills provided legal and Fichtner, ARUP, and RPS for the technical aspect of the transaction. About GBP500 million (US$678.3 million) of investment is needed to realize the project.
Commissioning of the Rivenhall EfW is expected by 2025.
