Spanish electrical energy solutions company Elmya SA, through its subcontractor Seguridad Integral Secoex, has started the assembly of the solar panels and trackers for the 590 MWp Francisco Pizarro solar photovoltaic project in the Extremadura region of Spain.
The solar farm is promoted by Spanish utility giant Iberdrola SA for an investment of EUR300 million (US$365.2 million). It is installed in about 1,300 hectares of land area and can generate enough clean energy to supply 375,000 people every year.
The project is expected to be operational by 2022.
