Iberdrola plans to develop a photovoltaic (PV) solar plant with 370 megawatts (MW) of installed capacity in Peralta, Navarra region, Spain.
With an estimated investment of more than EUR200 million (USD244.14 million), the PV solar installation has been declared as a project of regional interest. The project will be located in the municipalities of Peralta and Andosilla and will include, in addition to solar panels, other infrastructure such as a 400 kV substation and a power line connected to the transmission network between Funes, Milagro, Cadreita, Valtierra and Castejón towns.
The construction of the PV plant will involve up to 1,200 specialists, which will boost the regional economy. Once operational, the project will generate clean energy for an equivalent population of approximately 163,000 homes. Moreover, it will avoid up to 76,800 tons of CO2 emissions per year.
