Iberdrola has entered into an agreement with Swiss infrastructure investor Energy Infrastructure Partners (EIP) for the sale of the 49% stake in the 350 MW Wikinger wind farm project located in the German Baltic Sea for a total of EUR700 million (US$701.18 million).
The wind project, consisting of 70 turbines, has been in operation since 2018. It generates clean energy to supply up to 350,000 German households.
Iberdrola will maintain a majority stake of 51% and continue to control and manage the wind project, leading the operations and maintenance services.
