Iberdrola and Masdar have completed turbine installation at the 476 MW Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm, in the German Baltic Sea.
Once fully operational, Baltic Eagle will generate renewable energy for approximately 475,000 households, reducing carbon emissions by 800,000 tons annually. The project involves 50 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 9.53 MW, supplied by Vestas and installed by Fred Olsen Windcarrier. Iberdrola and Masdar's collaboration, strengthened by a EUR 15 billion (US$ 16 billion) agreement signed at COP28, will bring Iberdrola’s Baltic Hub to over 1.1 GW of capacity by 2026, with investments reaching around EUR 3.7 billion (US$ 4 billion).
