Swedish company Hexicon, through its TwinHub Ltd, is purchasing the Wave Hub test site in Cornwall, South West England for the development of its up to 40 MW floating offshore wind project.

The project will feature a twin-turbine floating foundation that is deployed about 16 km off the Cornish coast near Hayle. Hexicon is working with US engineering company Bechtel to deliver the project by 2025.

The use of the site for the project development would still need approval from The Crown Estate.
