Hawaiian Electric has awarded Hanwha Energy Corporation, the contract to develop and operate the 60 MW Kupehau solar project with 240 MWh energy storage in Oahu island, Hawaii, in the United States of America.
The project will operate under a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement and expected to be operational by 2023.
Kupehau will be built in about 200 acres of land next to the Kahe to Waiau 138-kV transmission line to which it will be connected.
