Groupe Filatex and meeco Group to develop hybrid solar projects in Madagascar

Swiss renewable energy company The meeco Group has announced that it has signed a cooperation agreement with Groupe Filatex regarding the development of clean energy generation in Madagascar. In the initial phase, the agreement sets out a framework for the construction, ownership and operation of three solar energy projects.

The partners will develop two utility-scale sun2live PV power plants with a nominal capacity of 7 MW and 8 MW, and one hybrid solar diesel project comprising of two parts each with a nominal capacity of 500 kWp. sun2live is a small-to-medium scale distributed solar power generation and energy storage system designed by meeco.

Groupe Filatex is one of the leading energy producers in Madagascar through its subsidiary ENELEC.
