Madagascar tenders 25-MW PV project

Madagascar’s Ministry of Water, Energy and Hydrocarbons has released a RFQ for a 25 MW photovoltaic solar project, plan to be built near the country’s capital city,  Antananarivo.

The project will be structured around the World Bank’s Scaling Solar group program aimed to facilitate the development of privately financed large scale renewables projects. IFC will act as the lead counsel for the project.

The scope of work will include design, financing, construction, commissioning and operation of the plant. The tender includes battery storage requirements in addition to solar generation.Winning bidder will sign a PPA with local utility Jiro Sy Rano Malagasy (JIRAMA). 

The deadline for applications is January 10, 2018. Pre-qualified bidders after this stage will receive the request for proposals (RfP).
