Dutch renewable energy developer, GroenLeven, is set to develop the largest floating PV project in Europe, the 48 MW floating solar PV project in Groningen.
The project will be located in the area owned by Kremer Zand and Grind. The area is used to be as a sand extraction site.
The project is expected to generate electricity to supply 13,000 households. The project is expected to be completed by mid-2020.
