Powerlink has signed an agreement with the MacIntyre Wind Precinct project to connect the 1,026 MW onshore wind complex to the grid in Queensland, Australia.
A new 65-kilometer transmission line and two new switching stations will be built as part of this AUD170 million (US$123 million) agreement. The 102 MW Karara Wind Farm, which will be owned and maintained by CleanCo, and the 923 MW MacIntyre Wind Farm will make up the AUD1.96 billion (US$1.5 billion) MacIntyre Wind Precinct.
CleanCo has also agreed to purchase about 400 MW of renewable energy from the MacIntyre Wind Farm through a power offtake agreement with Acciona.
