Greenalia puts online the 24 MW Miñón wind farm in Coruña

Greenalia has connected to the grid and begun to sell energy output of the 24 MW Miñón wind farm in the town of Vimianzo in Coruña, in Galicia region of north-west Spain.

The project has an investment cost of EUR28 million (US$31.16 million), it features six Enercon E-126 wind turbines, capable of generating 4 MW each.

Miñón wind farm is part of the Greenalia’s Eolo project portfolio, the first to be operational on the nine parks. Five parks that are part of the first phase of the Eolo project, with an investment of EUR87 million (US$97.59 million) and is estimated to generate annual revenues of EUR10 million (US$11.22 million) in 2021 and an EBITDA of EUR7.5 million (US$8.41 million).

The second part of the Eolo project is in an advanced phase of processing. It will have an investment of EUR149 million (US$162.65 million) in four wind farms that are estimated to be operational before the end of 2020, which will mean additional income from the sale of the energy of EUR18.5 million (US$20.75 million) and an EBITDA of EUR14 million (US$15.7 million).

In July of 2019, Greenalia has secured financing, under the modality of project finance, of EUR84 million (US$94.23 millions) for the implementation of the five parks included in the first phase of the Eolo plan: Miñón, Ourol, Alto de Croa I, Alto de Croa II and Monte Tourado. The financial closure for the remaining is expected to be completed in the first half of 2020.
