EDF Renewables in Greece has been awarded a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for a 60 MWp solar photovoltaic project, following a mixed Renewable Energy Sources (RES) auction held by the Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAE).

The project will bring the EDF Group one step closer to meeting its goal under the CAP 2030 strategy of doubling its worldwide renewable energy capacity to 50 GW between 2015 and 2030.

The Loutsa solar project (60 MWp) will be implemented on 82 hectares in the Viotia region, close to Athens. The project due to be commissioned by 2022, will benefit from a 20-year PPA at the rate of EUR53 (US$59.38) per MWh.
