The Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund and Hellenic Petroleum have closed the sale of a 66% shareholding in the Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator to a consortium of Snam, Enagás and Fluxys for EUR535 million (US$608.3 million)
DESFA S.A. is a state natural gas grid operator that owns, operates, and manages the national natural gas transmission system in Greece. The company transports gas from the Greek-Bulgarian border, the Greek-Turkish border, and the liquefied natural gas receiving terminal on the Revythousa Island in the Gulf of Megara to consumers in continental Greece. It also provides non regulatory services, such as polyethylene welding certification, metrology, natural gas distribution network, natural gas vehicle refueling stations, natural gas odorization, crisis management training programs, technical consulting services, corrosion and lightening protection, natural gas transmission system technical support, non-destructive testing, digital management of documents, and provision of operational data.
