GP JOULE has connected the first section of the Lausitz Energy Park, the 90 MW Klettwitz Nord solar PV facility located in Brandenburg, Germany.
The 90 MW Klettwitz Nord solar project is equipped with 183,000 solar modules and feeds in around 91,530 MWh of solar power annually. The project is expected to offset 64,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions. The Lausitz Energy Park is being built on a high dump of the former Klettwitz open-cast mine in the municipality of Schipkau. Once all construction phases are completed, it will generate up to 300 MW of peak power.
GP JOULE was the general contractor responsible for planning and constructing the PV plant. In January of 2022, GP JOULE GmbH and its partners sold the project to ABO Invest AG.
