Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) has awarded a supply contract to Goldwind for the delivery of turbines for the 500 MW Zarafshan wind farm project located in the Navoiy region, Uzbekistan.
Goldwind will supply 111 GW155-4.5MW units of wind turbines that are expected to generate enough power for up to 500,000 local homes. The contract value was not disclosed.
The Zarafshan project, located in the Navoi region in central Uzbekistan, achieved financial close on August 31, 2022. The project is expected to start construction in Q3 2022, and to be operational by the end of 2024.
