Gold Fields Limited (Gold Fields) has received an electricity generation license from the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) for the construction of a 40 MW solar power plant at its South Deep mine, in the Gauteng Province, South Africa.
Gold Fields will update its definitive costings and finalize all the required internal processes to commence the project as soon as possible.
The project will be constructed on the same site as the South Deep mine and all power generated by the plant will be consumed by the mine.
