Gen2 Energy, a Norwegian clean-energy company, has secured confirmation of up to 195 MW of grid capacity for its planned green hydrogen production facility at Nesbruket in Vefsn municipality in northern Norway. Planned to be built in Nesbruket, Mosjøen, which sits at the end of a 48km fjord, the plant is expected to supply maritime applications in the region.
This confirmed capacity — part of which (about 87 MW) is already allocated in the existing grid, while the remainder will come through grid expansion by local operator Statnett — is a critical step toward advancing the project toward a final investment decision (FID) and ultimately getting construction underway. Gen2 Energy has now confirmed sufficient capacity to support the project’s initial phase, which is designed to produce up to 30 tonnes of liquefied green hydrogen per day, with output increasing progressively as the facility expands toward its full 195 MW capacity.
