GE Renewable Energy, a unit of General Electric, has installed the first turbine for the 153 MW Serra da Babilonia wind power complex expansion project under development near the municipalities of Morro do Chapéu, Ourolândia, and Várzea Nova at the State of Bahia in Brazil.
The 30-turbines expansion project is added to the 223.25 MW wind complex. GE will use its Cypress model with an operating range of 4.8 MW to 5.1 MW. Rio Energy will provide operation and maintenance (O&M) services for all the turbines installed in the project.
