The joint venture of Irish utility ESB and forestry company Coillte, FuturEnergy Ireland, is seeking development approval from Ireland’s planning body An Bord Pleanala for the development of the 90 MW Glenard onshore wind farm project.
Located on the Inishowen peninsula in County Donegal, the project will have up to 15 wind turbine generators with a maximum ground-to-tip height of 173 meters. A 110kV permanent electrical substation that includes a control building with welfare facilities will be constructed on-site.
Once commissioned, the wind farm can generate enough energy for at least 56,000 local homes.
