Zelestra has announced full commercial operations at the 19 MWdc Villamañán solar project in León, Spain. The Villamañán solar project, with a capacity of 19 MWdc, represents the third solar facility in Spain developed under a clean energy collaboration with Graphic Packaging International, supported through a long-term virtual Power Purchase Agreement (vPPA). Along with the José Cabrera project (50 MWdc) and Socovos II (33 MWdc), the partnership has delivered more than 100 MWdc of new renewable energy capacity in Spain. Constructed by the internal EPC division of Zelestra, the Villamañán plant is expected to produce approximately 28,700 MWh of renewable electricity annually, helping prevent over 4,900 tons of CO₂ emissions each year.
Spain is one of Zelestra’s key global markets. The company has around 1.1 GW of solar and BESS capacity contracted with customers, and a wider pipeline of more than 7 GW.
