Zelestra begins construction on 38.5 MWdc solar project in Germany

Zelestra, a global, multi-technology, customer-focused renewable energy company, has started construction on its 38.5 MWdc Detershagen solar project in Rostock, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. The plant is the company's second project to enter construction in the country, following the 27.5 MWdc Klevenow solar plant, which was recently fully energised.

Awarded through Germany's EEG tenders, Detershagen will comprise approximately 62,000 solar panels and is expected to generate around 40,200 MWh of clean energy annually, helping avoid approximately 13,300 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year. The clean energy will support the energy needs of homes and businesses in the Rostock area.

Construction is expected to support around 55 jobs, with full commercial operation anticipated by Q2 2027.

Detershagen is one of two further solar projects, alongside Zelestra's first German BESS project, due to enter construction in H2 2026.
