French Prime Minister Jean Castex has announced the start of a competitive bidding procedure for the building of two 250 MW floating offshore wind projects in the Mediterranean, with winners expected to be revealed next year.
To be expanded by 500 MW each in the future, the first plant will be erected off the coast of Narbonne, while the second will be built off the coast of the Gulf of Fos. The new wind farms are expected to be operational by the end of the decade.
