The 50.4 MW first phase of the 164 MW wind project in Argentina has been commissioned. Construction works are managed by Infra SA while Vestas supplied 14 wind turbines of 3.6 MW unit power.
The Aluar Wind Farm is deployed in an area of approximately 14 thousand hectares, about 20 km from the city of Puerto Madryn, in the estate of the Estancia El Llano. It is being installed in three phases. The first two phases have a combined generation capacity of 111 MW, while the third has capacity to generate 53 MW, comprised of 14 V136-3.45 MW wind turbines with 3.6 MW Power Optimised Mode specifically increased to 3.8 MW. The second stage is now under construction.
The electric power generated by the first stage, which would be equivalent to the consumption of more than 70,000 homes, will be sold to the Term Market.
The park is in the testing stage and it is expected that in the next few days the Electricity Wholesale Market Administrator Company will grant it the authorization to start operating commercially.
