Metsähallitus, a Finnish state-owned enterprise, releases preliminary market information for the 1.3 GW Korsnäs offshore wind project in Ostrobothnia. In addition, the company has launched a competitive bidding process to select a partner for the wind farm.
Metsähallitus is looking for an experienced partner to accelerate the development, construction, and operation of the Korsnäs wind farm. It will invite both domestic and international investors into the selection process with the goal to choose the partner during 2022. The commercial operation is estimated to start in 2028.
The Korsnäs offshore wind farm will be located around 15 – 30 km from the coast. The project will be one of the first large-scale offshore wind farms in Finland. Metsähallitus will act as a project developer and will remain as the lessor of the offshore wind farm post-exit.
