European Energy has announced its plans to develop a 65 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Lithuania - the largest solar farm ever built in the Baltic region. Located in Anyksciai, the solar farm is set to be connected to the grid in Q4 of 2023. The farm will feature over 140,000 solar panels, each mounted on advanced tracker systems that adjust their position to maximize sunlight exposure throughout the day. This technology ensures optimal production and efficiency.
Once fully operational, the Anyksciai solar farm is expected to generate 90,000 MWh of electricity annually, equivalent to the consumption of approximately 24,000 households across Europe.
European Energy has also revealed its intention to connect additional solar farms in Jonava and Skuodas to the national grid by 2026, further solidifying its commitment to renewable energy in the region.
