European Energy, Asahi sign PPA for Marksbury Plain Solar Project in UK

European Energy has entered into a virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) with Asahi Europe & International (AEI) for green energy from the 19 MW Marksbury Plain solar photovoltaic project located near Bath in Southwest England in the UK. 

The deal aims to support AEI in its wider sustainability ambition and to achieve carbon neutrality across all of its European breweries and plants by 2030. 

The solar farm has secures planning permission from the Bath & Northeast Somerset Council in July 2022 and the construction of the project is expected to start in mid-2023.
