Eswatini Launches Construction of Innovent’s 10 MW Nsoko Solar PV Project

Eswatini’s Eswatini Electricity Regulatory Authority (ESERA), in partnership with Innovent, has launched construction of the 10 MW Nsoko Solar PV Project in Nsoko, Eswatini. 

The Innovent Nsoko Solar PV Project involves the construction of a 10 MW solar photovoltaic power plant in Nsoko, Eswatini, developed by Innovent under the country’s 75 MW Solar PV Independent Power Producer (IPP) Procurement Programme. Construction was officially launched on August 6, 2026, with an investment of more than E200 million. Once operational, the project is expected to generate approximately 26 GWh of clean electricity annually, equivalent to the electricity needs of more than 20,000 emaSwati. It is also expected to avoid around 30,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year, helping Eswatini diversify its energy mix and reduce dependence on imported electricity. The project is expected to create more than 80 jobs during construction, with priority for local communities, alongside skills-development opportunities and 10 permanent operational positions once the plant is running. The electricity generated will contribute to strengthening domestic power supply and improving Eswatini’s long-term energy security.
