ERG UK Holding Limited has unveiled plans to extend the operational Evishagaran Wind Farm with up to nine additional wind turbines and associated infrastructure in the townlands of Evishagaran and Cruckanim, approximately 5.5 km east of Dungiven, County Derry/Londonderry, Northern Ireland.

The planning application follows nearly two years of community consultation and features an optimised turbine layout that makes maximum use of existing infrastructure while avoiding areas of deep peat and other priority habitats.

Subject to planning approval, the extension would comprise up to seven additional wind turbines, each with a maximum blade tip height of 150 metres. The project is expected to generate sufficient renewable electricity to supply up to 25,000 homes across Northern Ireland annually while reducing carbon emissions by approximately 34,000 tonnes of CO₂ each year. In addition to supporting Northern Ireland's net-zero objectives, the development is anticipated to create employment opportunities during both the construction and operational phases.
