E.on SE, a German energy company, is planning to build a hydrogen production facility that can supply up to 80,000 tonnes of green hydrogen and ammonia per year to the local industry in the Ruhr region of Germany.
E.on is partnering with Italy's Enel SpA and Spain's Iberdrola that will be providing power from its renewable energy projects to produce green hydrogen. The initial design will have a 20 MW capacity which will be expanded in future developments.
The project is expected to provide a steady supply of green hydrogen by 2032.
