Eni and Simply Blue Group have signed a collaboration for the development of new floating offshore wind projects in Italy. Together with local communities and other major industry actors, the partners will develop new technology solutions and strengthen the Italian floating offshore wind supply chain.
Messapia (1.3 GW) in Apulia and Krimisa (1.1 GW) in Calabria, the first two floating offshore wind projects, have been filed with the appropriate authorities.
Together, it is expected that the two projects will be able to meet the energy needs of approximately 2.5 million households, thereby contributing to the nation's decarbonization goals.
