Engie Energia Peru SA, part of utility group Engie SA, has secured US$150 million in finance for the 260 MW Punta Lomitas wind farm located in the district of Ocucaje, in the province of Ica, Peru.
Engie has closed the agreement with a number of financial institutions, to cover part of the investment costs required for the development of the Punta Lomitas wind project, which represents a total investment of about US$323 million.
The project will be using 50 units of the SG 5.0-145 turbines, supplied by Siemens Gamesa.
Abengoa has been selected for the construction of an electric transmission line for the project.
The construction of the project is expected to start by the second half of 2021.
