Engie Chile, a unit of French electric utility group Engie SA, has secured environmental planning permit for the development of the 353.4 MW onshore wind farm project in the region of Antofagasta in Chile.
Named Lomas de Taltal, the wind farm will consist of 57 wind turbines with an individual capacity of 6.2 MW. The project will be connected to the future Parinas substation and the grid through the 20-km 220-kV transmission line.
The construction of the wind farm is expected to start in 2022 with planned commissioning before the end of 2024.
