Enel agrees sale of 108 MW biomass portfolio to F2i SGR

Enel has agreed to sell five biomass assets with a combined capacity of 108 MW to F2i SGR for EUR 335 million (USD 388m). The assets included are: 

  • Mercure biomass plant in Calabria (in operation)
  • Finale Emilia biomass plant in Emilia Romagna (in operation)
  • 50% stakes in Powercrop -- a joint venture with Maccaferri that owns the plants that are being built at Russi and Macchiareddu in Emilia Romagna and Sardinia
  • Casei Gerola biomass project in Lombardy

The sale of the Casei Gerola project awaits the final authorisation. 

The transaction is pending for approval by Italy's antitrust authority and could be implemented through individual transfers of the assets between 2018 and 2019.
