Enefit Green has made the final investment decision to proceed with the development of the 74 MW Sopi solar project in Estonia. The solar farm is a significant milestone in Enefit Green's plan to expand its electricity generation capacity. The company aims to quadruple its installed capacity to 1,900 MW by the end of 2026.
Sopi solar farm is scheduled to be operational by 2025, contributing to Estonia's renewable energy goals. It is anticipated that the farm will generate approximately 75 GWh of electricity annually.
Enefit Green is committed to investing nearly EUR44 million (US$47.2 million) into the project. The company operates as a renewable energy production unit in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland. It is involved in wind energy, cogeneration, solar energy, and other renewable energy generations.
