Brazil’s state-controlled power company Centrais Elétricas Brasileiras (Eletrobras) has divested its hree power distribution companies at a public auction in Sao Paulo.
The three distribution firms Eletroacre and Ceron, which operate in the northern states of Acre and Rondônia, and Boa Vista Energia, located in Roraima. Energisa SA has bought the two companies while Oliveira Energia in association with ATEM purchased Boa Vista Energia.
The deal represents a total of 688 million reais ($165 million) of Energisa and Oliveira Energia in the companies they acquired. Energisa now owns 11 power distribution companies in Brazil after the closing of the transaction.
