Taiya Renewable Energy and EDF Renewables have formed a partnership to jointly bid on the 440 MW Huan-Yang offshore wind project in Taiwan's next auction.
The Huan-Yang wind farm is proposed to be constructed in 15 to 45 m of water depth off the coast of Changhua County, Taiwan. The scheme is planned to use fixed-bottom foundations and generate 1.6 billion kWh/year, which is equivalent to the yearly energy consumption of 460,000 families.
Taiya Renewable Energy is now concentrating on the preparations necessary to qualify for the Phase-3 Zonal Development of Offshore Wind procurement in Taiwan.
