EDF Renewables has initiated crowdfunding to raise EUR200,000 (US$235,100) which aims to finance part of the construction of the photovoltaic plant located north of Dijon, near the Technology Park of the Golden Fleece Golden.

Initiated in 2018, this photovoltaic project is located at the former technical landfill center (CET) of Dijon, on which was previously stored rubble and residues from construction sites. The CET was closed and rehabilitated by the Dijon Metropolis during the summer of 2020.

The works began in September 2020 with the preparation of the ground, the development of the accesses, and the securing of the site. They are currently continuing with the preparation of foundations and electrical networks.

This solar power plant will contribute to local dynamism and generate direct economic benefits for communities. This project marks the desire of the Metropolis of Dijon to promote the development of renewable energies in its territory.

For EDF Renouvelables, it is a question of supporting the regions in their ambitions on a long-term basis and of carrying out projects that respect the environment while supporting the local economy.

Through this crowdfunding operation, citizens become financiers of the Dijon CET solar power plant.

With a total installed capacity of 15.6 MWp, the Dijon CET photovoltaic plant consists of around 44,000 panels. It will produce 17.2 GWh annually, equivalent to the average annual electricity consumption of around 3,600 households.
